Maomao of Arcendell

Was trying to get this out of the way much sooner than I wanted, but the shading of the fur proved very difficult especially around the chest area, but I had the Zodiac to get done so I gave it my best shot.

Aside from that, this profile is Mao-Moa the Manticore. The story behind this young beast is that she was conceived from the forced mating of the terrible Muertio. Not long after her birth, her mother succumbed to a rare sickness that was retracted from the mutant. During her years as a young cub, she remained in her village with in the Venion Tribe, however it was not an easy life for her. When her mother was still strong enough to protect her only child, Mao only received minor abuse from her fellow villagers, seeing her as an abomination and the tainted spawn of the horrible Muertio. When she lost her only protection, the Venion Tribe became much more cruel to her, some even tried to kill her. Yet despite the vindictiveness, her charismatic and chirpy attitude did not falter, though it is demonstrated eerily at times. Eventually, she decided that it was time to leave her village and taking with a single souvenir; the last and single remnant of her Mother, her skull. Her disturbing sense of admiration of love to her deceased parent may have left an undesirable impression on all those that she met, but she hardly cared what others think.

Mao had inherited unique abilities as a result of her procreation from both parents. Like the Muertio, her body generates massive quantities of Mana, but at times is unable to control its flow and forces a discharge at random that can effect her surroundings on different levels, though as of this moment, her bursts have been minor and have been little more than discombobulating. Through out her life she had such unstable ruptures five times, the first time happened just before she left her home. From her mother, she received potent venom that seeps not just from the tip of her bladed tail, but from the curved spikes on her shoulders and claws. Mao is smaller compared to her manticore brethren, an unusual defect of her genetics, but never the less, she utilizes her lack of size to her advantage when being sneaky. She is also much more agile and swift than a typical manticore. Her personality is similar to that of a hyperactive 12-year-old girl that can succumb to seemingly erratic tendencies, like spontaneously laughing out loud in the most inappropriate times or begins asking endless questions that in no way are relevant to the situation before her. However, despite her flaws, she is very optimistic and gleeful creature that enjoys either being alone or with companions. If shown kindness and or tolerance, she is very sweet, loyal, and fun. However, one dreads at the thought of what she might look like if her toothy smile ever wavered…
