Broken Doll Reaper

Six down, seven more to go. Lets hope I stay to the commitment any longer.

“I lie here, wasting away, unable to move.

My pieces scattered, my mind shattered.

I have no will to stand, for I have lost support.

I lie here, hollow, and broken.”

The Broken Doll is by far a hostile entity, despite its horrific appearance. It is the Reaper of souls that have been tortured, mangled, and devastated. Not physically, but mentally. This sympathetic reaper comes to collect the essence of mortals have failed to find strength, stability, or will during their lives. People who have endured overwhelming hardships of both flesh and mind are expected to meet the Broken Doll for she, like most of the Reapers among the thirteen, is a reflection of themselves. She is the monument of humanity’s anguish and misery, but, if she were to ever come to find a soul, that has experienced such dismal living, but managed to find, even a spark, of joy, hope, or peace in his or her life, the Broken Doll appears before the soul in a different form. Instead of a ruined, corroding mannequin with warn blades of rust, she would take the form that is whole and complete, made of glistening alabaster and eyes that glow like the sun. She would then offer her hand to them, like an angel inviting them to Heaven.

The Broken Doll represents those who have suffered great misfortune in their lives. Those who are under the Broken Doll’s mark are considered doubtful, self loathing, depressed, or all around negative about every situation they are involved in. Some could be very seclusive, passive, preferring to isolate themselves from others. In other more extreme cases, there are those who have a reason for their misery, living a hard life that was perhaps caused by suffering from a traumatic experience, such as an abusive child hood, that left a permanent scar on their psychological outlook. The only way to break away from such depression is not through pills or medication, but by accepting those who are offering to help stand back up on your feet, it does not matter how many, all it takes is a little, just one person, who was kind enough to ask you, “Are you alright?” is enough of an indication that you are not hated by everyone or that you can be loved, and thus, give you the motivation to press on. All it takes is just that one realization.

In other news, I have decided to postpone any further dates on the reaper birth years until I have finished all 13 concepts. I would appreciate any input or advice on how to improve shading or texture.
